Beasts!

We hope this update finds all of you well! Apologies for the delay in updating, we've been waiting for a couple of pieces of the puzzle to fall into place.

We're happy to inform you all that, although Beasts Of The Black Hand 2 was delayed, we've reached the finish line on this project.  The final pages of dialogued artwork are coming in from the letterer this week; dialoguing the book took longer than Ron Marz anticipated, he's really put his heart and soul into matching the intensity of Matthew Dow Smith's art and bringing Paul Harding's beastly mythology to full life.

After the book is completely lettered, it will go through a round of proofreading/corrections. After Paul signs off, Beasts 2 officially heads to the printer. We anticipate this next round taking no longer than two weeks and all in all, the printed books should arrive at our warehouse and fulfillment will begin in roughly 5-6 weeks.

We'll drop you another update in short order, when the book is uploaded to the printer.

Thanks for hanging in there with us on this one, Beasts. There were a few bumps in the road but we got there. And if you're looking for a different kind of monster to back on Kickstarter, look no further than HERE!

Surveys!

Happy Monday, Beasts!

A quick note to let everyone know that surveys are being sent out for Beasts volume 2 today, the first step in preparing to fulfill the campaign. All artwork and colors for the project were completed last month; we're currently in the final proofreading phase before the project is sent to the printer.  All in all, we expect to fulfill in roughly 4-6 weeks and will keep you posted as things progress from here.

Thanks for all your patience as we've navigated the various hurdles that cropped up during the production of this graphic novel.  We're very excited to get this project in your hands!

The Beasts Are Lurching Forward

Greetings, Beasts!

We hope that February is treating all of you well.  

A few days ago, we had a large batch of colored art from Beasts 2 hit our inbox and wanted to share a couple of pages with you, as well as offer a general update of how this project is progressing through the production pipeline (try saying that five times fast).

Matthew is currently in "INSANE MODE" as he draws the living heck out of the final batch of pages and, as mentioned (and seen below), colors have begun to arrive from our genius of crayolas, Nanjan Jamberi. 

We're feeling good, both about the progress of the work from our creative team but also about the quality of the pages as they come in. Matt seems to have overcome his rotator cuff and back injuries and we're hoping for a smooth ride as the rest of this project comes in for a landing. 

Rumor has it, none less than Paul Harding himself has approved the last batch of colors (and do yourself a favor and take a look for Paul's upcoming Darkseid statue. It's "el fuego," as he kids say)!

If all continues to go according to plan, there will be a second update later this month notifying you when surveys will be sent out, and with some concrete info about shipping and fulfillment dates for Beasts 2.

New Year's news!

Happy New Year, Beasts!

We hope the New Year finds you safe and healthy! As we turn the page into 2021, we wanted to update you on our progress with Beasts of the Black Hand Volume 2, and why our timeline has extended beyond our revised estimate.

We’re making steady progress, but at a slower pace than expected. Unfortunately, artist Matthew Dow Smith injured his back and tore his rotator cuff, which is impacting the hours he can spend at the drawing board. Matt is still drawing, and managing his injury as best he can, although the process is slower and more painful than he'd like.

We can also tell you that Matt’s pages are looking great, as evidenced by the pages we’re showing off here.

Our timeline for completion is a bit malleable, depending on how quickly the remaining pages can be drawn, but we’re hoping to have the remaining black-and-white artwork completed in a month’s time, with the color complete shortly thereafter.  Then some time for production and printing, and we’ll be able to start the fulfillment process. 

We’ll keep you informed as the process continues, and get the finished graphic novel in your hands as soon as possible.
