6 days left and the Beasts are starting to make some noise!

As we plunge into the final six days of the Beasts Of The Black Hand vol 2: The Viking League, the temperature is beginning to rise! We're seeing a definite uptick in activity on social media and new backers are joining The Order Of The Black Hand with increasing regularity.

It's going to be a race to the finish line but there's a definite light at the end of the tunnel. We're doing everything we can to get this graphic novel funded. Every like, share and follow from all of you on social media definitely helps us to spread the word about this project in these critical final days and has contributed to that uptick in activity mentioned earlier. Together, we can move mountains!

We'll leave you today with another look at some of the amazing sculpture rewards designed by Paul Harding for the campaign. These would look great on any bookshelf, don't you agree?

Stay safe out there. Wear a mask and wash your hands!

Give Us a Hand!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Aug 06, 2020 at 03:06:30 AM

We loved artist Matthew Dow Smith’s cover images for the Volume 1 and Volume 2 hardcovers of Beasts of the Black Hand, so we had him design and draw two more! As part of the current campaign, we’re offering an extremely limited number of sets of comic-format issues #1-#4, which contain the complete Beasts of the Black Hand saga.

The full story is divided into four issues, each issue featuring a Matthew Dow Smith cover with the trademark “hand” motif. Each cover features a different color and character combination, as well as signature piece of architecture. We love the way they look together!

Each set of issues #1-#4, with the exclusive Matthew Dow Smith covers, is $40, and can be pledged on the campaign page right now. We would love for you to like, share, and follow on social media! Help us unleash the Beasts!

We’re making progress every day on the campaign, but we need your help to push us over the top. Please pledge to make Beasts Volume 2 a reality! Also like, share, and follow on social media, so we can get as many people as possible to the campaign page. As always, thanks for all your support!

And then there were 10...

10 days to go, that is, Beasts!

We are a week and a half away from the thrilling conclusion to the Beasts vol 2 campaign. It's true what they say: time flies when you're having fun and, if your idea of fun is 24/7 stress and constant brainstorming, you're the kind of person that could potentially enjoy running some Kickstarter campaigns.

Today, we're going to offer our beastly backers a glimpse into the brain of series originator Paul Harding. Everyone that knows Paul's work knows of his love for comics: that love shines through in every sculpt he creates for Marvel or DC (and keep an eye out for Paul's "Marvel In The 70's" sketchbook, produced in conjunction with Creation.Ink,  which shows more of an understanding of the core of those characters with silent single images than most Marvel Comics can pull off today with 20 pages and word balloons.

But we digress...

An equal part of the creative DNA that makes up the mysterious Mr. Harding is horror or, as pertains to Beasts, horror comics. If you want to learn a little more about Paul's formative influences, he's put together a list of his top 13 horror comics of the 70's for our good friends at 13th Dimension. Have a click below and when you come back, ART WORK.

And while we're giving you guys sneak peeks and insight, the mighty Matthew Dow Smith has finished the rough colors on his final Beasts cover. We'll be showing off the final colors tomorrow, along with a brand new ULTIMATE reward bundle that will blow all your minds, but for now, feast your eyes:

The recurring hand motif Matt developed for the four covers is pretty awesome, don't you think?

That's all for today. We've got a bit of a battle to fight to get this project funded in the next 10 days so any punches you guys can throw to help us out in the form of shares is greatly appreciated. We can't do it without you!

Stay safe, wear a mask and wash your hands!
